Role OverviewThis position supports a leading innovator in sustainable food packaging, directing a team of hourly associates to achieve production goals while upholding safety, quality, and compliance standards. The role involves overseeing daily manufacturing operations, training and mentoring staff, optimizing workflows, and driving continuous improvement. Through effective communication and problem-solving, this supervisor ensures a positive work environment and consistent delivery of high-quality products.
Responsibilities• Oversee daily production operations to meet quality, efficiency, and output targets
• Lead, mentor, and train hourly team members, ensuring proper adherence to policies,
SOPs, and GMPs
• Conduct performance evaluations, address issues promptly, and foster a positive,
inclusive work environment
• Allocate labor, materials, and equipment based on production schedules, adjusting as
needed to minimize downtime
• Monitor product quality through inspections and measurements, taking corrective action
when standards are not met
• Enforce compliance with all safety regulations, PPE requirements, and relevant
certifications (SQF/ISO)
• Identify areas for improvement, implement solutions to enhance productivity and costeffectiveness, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Maintain accurate production records, communicate progress and challenges to
management, and ensure deadlines are met in a non-climate-controlled, loud
environment
Qualifications• High School Diploma or GED minimum; 5+ years of operational supervisory experience
required
• Prior experience in food packaging, extrusion, or a related manufacturing environment
strongly preferred
• Demonstrated success leading teams of 40+ hourly employees
• Proven leadership skills with a track record of motivating, directing, and developing staff
• Strong ability to influence, coach, and delegate effectively to meet performance goals
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements, ES&H policies, and quality/compliance
standards, especially within food packaging settings
• Experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and overseeing purchases for
labor/maintenance
• Skilled in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced
environment
• Data-driven approach to decision-making, with a focus on continuous improvement
• Strong sense of ownership and drive to enhance existing systems and processes
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new computer applications as needed
• Root cause analysis and corrective action experience preferred
