Seeking an HR Specialist who can own and develop core HR functions—recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and employee engagement—in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment. This is a high-impact position for someone excited to build processes from scratch, shape the company culture, and help grow a mission-driven team dedicated to replacing single-use plastics with safe, pure, and sustainable alternatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee recruiting strategies, onboarding, and talent management
  • Implement HR policies, maintain compliance with employment laws, and manage HR documentation
  • Coordinate any payroll or benefits administration, plus performance reviews
  • Drive employee engagement and culture-building initiatives
  • Partner with leadership on organizational design, compensation strategy, and succession planning

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of HR generalist experience (preferably in a fast-paced environment)
  • Familiarity with HR best practices, employment law, and compliance requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build relationships quickly
  • Experience with HRIS and recruiting tools is a plus
  • Passion for sustainability and willingness to adapt in a scrappy startup environment
