Responsibilities
The Chemist/Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality of dyeing and finishing operations, ensuring that all processes align with quality standards, safety regulations, and production schedules. This role requires leadership, problem-solving, and technical expertise to maintain the efficiency and accuracy of dyehouse procedures.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight & Workflow Management
- Supervise all dyehouse and color lab personnel, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently.
- Manage workflow and production schedules to meet customer and quality standards.
- Adjust dye formulations and processing parameters based on production needs and color requirements.
- Ensure proper operation of dyeing and finishing equipment to maintain consistency in production.
- Quality Control & Troubleshooting
- Maintain color standards and consistency throughout the dyeing process.
- Troubleshoot dyeing and finishing issues, working with the Plant Manager and Lab Supervisor to implement solutions.
- Ensure all materials meet Gehring Tricot’s quality assurance standards before final production approval.
- Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing company and regulatory safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with chemical handling, PPE use, and environmental regulations related to dyehouse operations.
- Conduct safety inspections and address potential hazards proactively.
- Inventory & Resource Management
- Monitor and order dyes, chemicals, and production materials to avoid shortages or overuse.
- Maintain inventory records and chemical logs to track production resources efficiently.
- Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise dyehouse staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Train employees on dyeing procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
- Foster a collaborative and detail-oriented work culture that prioritizes efficiency and quality.
- Facility Maintenance & Organization
- Keep work areas clean and organized, ensuring safe and efficient dyehouse operations.
- Operate and oversee the use of two-tone cranes, load levelers, and electric pallet jacks as needed.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Assist in other plant operations when required.
- Stay updated on new dyeing technologies and process improvements to enhance production efficiency.

Education, Certification & Experience:
- Education: College degree required (Doctorate in Chemistry preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of trade experience (Trade certification is a plus).
- 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred in a dyehouse or textile-related industry.
- Certifications & Licenses:
- Valid driver’s license may be required for facility management tasks.

They should possess a minimum of five years of industry experience, ideally with three or more years in a supervisory role.
