Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Machinist A to join a leading defense contractor specializing in mission-critical components and systems for air, land, sea, and space applications. This role involves performing a variety of complex machining tasks, including setting up and operating manual or CNC horizontal boring mills, vertical machining centers, and occasionally lathes. The position requires interpreting complex blueprints, working with materials such as aluminum and steel, and maintaining tight tolerances for high-precision manufacturing. As part of a collaborative team in a quality-driven environment, the ideal candidate will bring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and extensive machining experience to contribute to the company's mission of delivering innovative and reliable defense solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Operate manual or CNC horizontal boring mills, machining centers, or lathes.
  • Interpret and work from complex blueprints.
  • Utilize materials such as aluminum and steel in castings, forgings, and weldments.
  • Select appropriate feeds, speeds, and work holding equipment to maintain tolerances and finishes.
  • Use measuring tools like micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers to ensure accuracy.
  • Operate overhead cranes for material handling.
  • Maintain daily production records and assist with ad hoc tasks as required..


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: 5–7 years of machinist experience (7+ years for higher experience tier).
  • Relevant Defense Industry experience is highly preferred (please avoid medial device experience)
  • Experience in CNC programming.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
