Responsibilities: Full-Cycle Litigation Management: Direct and manage all phases of litigation independently, from initial case assessment through trial or resolution, ensuring a strategic approach to every file., Strategic Case Analysis: Conduct comprehensive legal research and factual discovery to develop robust defense theories and provide actionable insights for complex insurance matters., Deposition Leadership: Lead and defend critical depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts, utilizing advanced questioning techniques to secure favorable testimony., High-Level Legal Writing: Draft sophisticated motions, briefs, and legal memoranda that articulate complex arguments clearly and persuasively to influence judicial outcomes., Courtroom Advocacy: Represent clients with poise and professionalism during hearings, mediations, and court appearances, maintaining a strong presence in both state and federal jurisdictions., Client Partnership and Reporting: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and insurance carriers, providing timely updates, risk assessments, and detailed reporting to ensure alignment on case objectives., Subject Matter Expertise: Maintain a deep and current understanding of evolving insurance defense case law, statutes, and procedural rules to provide elite legal counsel., Performance Excellence: Consistently meet an annual billable requirement of 1,800–1,900 hours by delivering high-quality, efficient legal services that reflect the firm’s commitment to excellence.
Qualifications: Educational Background: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and an active license to practice law in good standing., Professional Experience: Two to seven years of progressive experience in civil litigation, demonstrating a strong command of courtroom procedures and case management., Industry Expertise: Prior experience in insurance defense is highly preferred, including a foundational understanding of carrier guidelines and reporting requirements., Analytical and Writing Excellence: Exceptional legal research capabilities and the ability to draft sophisticated pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda with precision., Case Management: Proven ability to independently manage a diverse caseload, meet rigorous deadlines, and prioritize multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
