What you can expect
Day to Day
You’ll start by planning your route across San Marcos and North County San Diego, then spend the day delivering one‑on‑one therapy sessions (evaluations, manual techniques, gait and balance training), educating patients and caregivers on home‑exercise programs, and documenting all interventions in the EMR. Between visits, you’ll consult with RNs, OTs, and case managers, restock your supplies, and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress.
Team
You’ll join a multidisciplinary home‑health team of ~20 clinicians—PTs, OTs, RNs, social workers—and administrative coordinators. You’ll have a PT mentor for regular check‑ins and work closely with case managers on each patient’s care plan.
Growth
Mission Healthcare offers clear advancement paths from Staff PT → Lead PT → Clinical Educator → Regional Therapy Manager. You’ll have access to CEU stipends, leadership workshops, and mentorship programs to support your professional development.
Interview Process
- Recruiter Phone Screen (20–30 min): Confirm California PT licensure, BLS status, minimum experience, and logistical fit (travel, scheduling).
- Hiring Manager Interview (30–45 min): Clinical Manager explores your clinical reasoning, in‑home care experience, patient‑education approach, and case examples.
- Skills Demonstration (60 min): Virtual or in‑home mock session where you’ll present a treatment plan and demonstrate key manual techniques.
- Final Leadership Review (15–20 min): Regional Therapy Director discusses role expectations, career growth, and addresses any remaining questions.
